Experimental syntax

I am the PI of a research project entitled The Effects of Syntactic Operations on Cognition, supported by the John Fell Fund at the University of Oxford (ref. E1D00240). This project employs two Research Assistants, Tom R Williamson (UWE Bristol & University of Southern California) and Yuyan Xue (University of Cambridge). The aim of this study is to understand the scale of the interaction between the parameters that dictate the rules of syntactic operations in different languages and the high-level cognitive capacities that speakers of these languages possess. Specifically, we test whether the availability of null subjects influences recognition memory for Spanish native speakers.
